Alu-Pro consolidates its presence in eastern Europe with an important investment. The top-ranking Italian industrial producer of aluminium profiles for insulating glass recently finalised acquisition of the majority shareholding for control of the Polish firm Vetrim, which also produces aluminium profiles and distributes products for the manufacture of insulating glass.
The agreement, signed last June, involves full transfer to Alu-Pro of the shares in Vetrim owned by the Imsa Group of Gorizia, for years part of the corporate structure of Vetrim together with Alu-Pro. Vetrim was set up in the early 1990s at Opole as the Polish subsidiary of the Imsa Group for closer monitoring of the development of eastern European markets. Alu-Pro joined its corporate structure in 2000 and provided the firm with the production facility which guaranteed it a significant growth in revenues. This growth moved the centre of gravity of the business increasingly towards aluminium profiles, strategically strengthening Alu-Pro’s position within the company. This then led to full sale of the shares held by Imsa to Alu-Pro, with which Imsa still maintains an effective relationship of cooperation within the Glass Alliance network.
The new structure will guarantee Vetrim all those investments that are now essential for ensuring a future of success and leadership on world markets, above all in eastern European countries.
