Molecular sieves

Molecular sieves, specifically zeolite-based sieves, play a critical role in the manufacturing of insulation glass units (IGUs). These sieves are microporous aluminosilicate minerals capable of selectively adsorbing molecules based on their size and polarity. In IGUs, molecular sieves are primarily used as desiccants to remove moisture and prevent condensation between the glass panes, which can lead to fogging and reduced insulation performance.

The desiccants are typically placed within the spacer bars of IGUs, ensuring long-term clarity and thermal efficiency by maintaining a dry air or gas layer between the glass layers. The effectiveness of molecular sieves in this application relies on their high adsorption capacity, selectivity for water vapor, and thermal stability, making them indispensable in the production of high-quality, durable insulation glass units.

Fenzi Group supplies IG unit manufacturers with premium-quality molecular sieves.
