Thermoflex Spacer
The two panes of glass in a double-glazed window unit are separated by a spacer such as Thermoflex, a premium elastomeric foam rubber warm edge spacer that is much more thermally efficient than traditional aluminum spacers and incorporates a gas diffusion barrier to minimize gas loss. Offered at a price competitive with EPDM products, Thermoflex complies with EN1279 and E2190-10 standards and is superior to EPDM in terms of UV stability, longevity within a sealed unit without blistering or cracking, and the absence of volatiles. It boasts one of the best thermal conductivity values of available spacer systems and can be exchanged within current Window Energy Ratings (WERs). Manufactured by the UK leading manufacturer and distributor Thermoseal Group, Thermoflex is subject to the Group's rigorous standards, with comprehensive testing and quality control performed at Thermoseal Group's Innovation Centre. The pre-desiccated elastomeric rubber foam spacer ensures moisture trapped between the glass is adsorbed, heat loss at the edge of the unit is minimized, and the sealed unit is structurally sound. Gas loss from the edge of the unit is kept to a minimum using a unique gas barrier tape, and Thermoflex is compatible with the same equipment as other flexible spacer systems.
Thermoflex Dual Seal Spacer
The Thermoflex Dual Seal Spacer is designed differently from the standard Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacer, featuring steps along its edges for the application of Polyisobutylene (PIB) primary sealant. This design allows for the application of both a primary and secondary seal, offering all the advantages of a traditional dual seal tube spacer system. It can be used with hot melt and two-component secondary sealants to ensure minimal moisture penetration and is proven effective with most worldwide brands of robot applicators for automated production. Additionally, this spacer is sometimes referred to as a triple seal spacer due to its side tape, which acts as a handling aid, bonding the spacer to the glass in conjunction with the PIB primary seal.
